Last weekend two good friends of mine finally took the step and got married. Tom and Amaryllis. Now known as the Kelly's. I of course flew back to Colorado for the wedding. It was not worth missing. Before I get started, can anyone tell me why Alaska Airlines chose to put an image of James Brown on the tail of their planes?

I flew out early afternoon and instantly jumped into a car for the 4 and half hour drive down to Crested Butte, Colorado. One of the coolest places in the States. Here's a sweet pic I took on the drive down through Eisenhower Tunnel. Kinda looks like a car advertisement huh?

We got in late night, so the rest of the night was just driving. The next morning I met up with some friends downtown Crested Butte to watch the first part of the Colorado, Colorado St. football game, and to have a few bloody mary's before the ceremony started. It was an awesome day in town too.

With a good early morning buzz tied on, it was off to the wedding. It was one of the best weddings I've ever been to. It was up in Washington Gulch, which back when I lived in Crested Butte, was one of our favorite places to snowmobile and snowboard. The scene was perfect, and it was definitely a Crested Butte wedding. In typical Crested Butte fashion, the Bride and groom rolled up on motocross bikes, and the best men and brides maids rallied in on quads.

Not to be outdone, the ring bearer joined in on the motorhead action and rode his own motocross bike, complete with training wheels. He had trouble finding the throttle and had to be pushed the last little way up to drop off the ring.

It was definitely a Crested Butte wedding. You knew when you took a look around and the crew had American beers in hand and not a tie to be found. I think Lucas may even be passed out in his chair at this point.

The ceremony was short and sweet (notice the brides hand) and then they broke some glass. Why? I don't know. They aren't Jewish, but I guess they thought if they did they would someday be some rich atheists.

Oh ya. Toms brother was the minister. It was then time for partyin' to commence. We stopped over at a friends house before going to the reception, and some things never change. This is a typical Crested Butte mid afternoon. If you're wondering what Pete and Vanlanen are looking at, stop, I don't think they know what they are looking at either at this point.

We then went on to the reception, which remained pretty mellow till after dinner when the bands started. But before that, the newlyweds had their dance

Gabe gave a speech, and then he cried. Haha

Some dude played the bagpipes. Tom and Am aren't Irish either.

We shot off some fireworks

Hell City Rockers threw down a reunion set minus one person, so Backstreet Pete filled in at Bass

Some people definitely got laid..... it was a wedding ya know

And the rest of the night, well...... It's kinda hazy and looked something like this

At some point we went to the bar. I don't remember much about it, but I think it was fun! If you're wondering where all the debauchery pictures are of all the homies actin' a fool. I decided that was a story of it's own that will have to wait. I'm tired. Went surfing all this weekend and drove home late last night, went to work early this morning. I'll post those photo's later. Congratulations Tom and Amaryllis Kelly.
I almost forgot... As a wedding gift for the friends and family Amaryllis' mom had matchbooks made. The read in gold on a black matchbook "T & A September 1, 2007" I don't think she was seeing the same thing we all saw on that one. The matchbooks looked like something you would have picked up at strip club. I wanted to bring some home, but they took them at the airport. Shit! I hate airport security.
